What types of wood are suitable for my project?

What grade of lumber should I choose?

Lumber is graded based on quality and appearance.

• #1 grade lumber is known for its superior quality, with fewer knots, splits, and defects compared to lower grades.
• #2 grade lumber is still of decent quality but may have more knots, blemishes, and defects compared to #1 grade.
• Utility grade lumber is the lowest grade and may have larger knots, splits, and more significant defects. 

What is the difference between nominal and actual dimensions?

• Nominal dimensions refer to the rough size of a piece of lumber as it is commonly referred to in the industry. These dimensions are typically used for labeling and marketing purposes.
• Actual dimensions, also known as dressed or finished dimensions, refer to the exact size of a piece of lumber after it has been processed and finished.

Once you place your order, within 24 hours, we will call you to arrange for a pickup.  You will need to come to our headquarters at 83096 Brandford Road, Creswell, OR 97426.  We have equipment for a quick and easy load out.
